WARM WELCOME FROM
Our Principal
“Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” (Nelson Mandela)
Welcome to Cathedral Composite Pre-University College and High School, an institution where education is not just about academic success, but about nurturing minds, building character, and shaping responsible citizens for tomorrow. “Cathedral” is a place where tradition meets innovation in the pursuit of academic excellence and holistic development.
At Cathedral, we are proud of our rich heritage, strong values, and unwavering commitment to excellence in education. We strive to create an environment where students are inspired to think critically, act with integrity, and grow with confidence. Our vision is to foster holistic development – intellectual, emotional, moral, and spiritual—while maintaining the highest standards of teaching and learning.
“Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.” (Proverbs 4:7)
This timeless message guides our approach. Our dynamic academic programs in Science, Commerce, and Arts are supported by state-of-the-art infrastructure, dedicated educators, and a student-centric learning environment. We nurture critical thinkers, curious learners, and confident speakers who are prepared to meet the demands of a rapidly changing world. Beyond textbooks, we focus on nurturing curiosity, creativity, compassion, and courage in our students.
“Dream, dream, dream. Dreams transform into thoughts and thoughts result in action.” (Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam)
We encourage our students to dream big, aim high, and pursue their goals with perseverance and humility. We believe every child is unique, with the potential to make a meaningful difference in the world. Our students shine not only in classrooms but also on national platforms—proving that determination, faith, and hard work lead to greatness.
Our dedicated faculty members are the backbone of our institution. With a deep sense of vocation, they serve as mentors, motivators, and guides, helping students navigate their educational journey with clarity and confidence. Our classrooms are not just spaces for learning, but for dialogue, discovery, and growth.
Co-curricular and extracurricular activities are integral to the Cathedral experience. From sports and the arts to debates and community outreach, students are given ample opportunities to develop leadership skills, teamwork, and social responsibility.
We are also deeply grateful for the support of our parents, alumni, and well-wishers, whose faith and collaboration continue to strengthen our mission.
As you explore our website, I invite you to witness the vibrant spirit and values that define Cathedral. Together, let us continue to build a future grounded in knowledge, faith, and service.
MESSAGE FROM
OUR BISHOP
I send my good wishes and blessings from the Karnataka Central Diocese of the Church of South India. I am delighted to see the young minds bloom with such creativity being tapped by the teaching faculty.
The Institution truly follows Albert Einstein’s philosophy, “Education is not the learning of facts but the training of the mind to think.” The number of opportunities that is provided to them to enhance their thinking and to experiment with different fields makes this Institution a kind of its own. The success stories of the students in many important fields bear witness to the kind of learning and freedom given to the students.
I believe that education is the most powerful weapon to change the world and the use of this weapon is to mould young minds to think intensively and to view everything with a critical eye. If a mind is inspired and motivated with proper guidance, it will be able to conquer any challenge. The Institution provides a platform and abundant opportunities towards excellence. The world of technology is an ever-growing field that adds to a Childs arsenal, their creativity and passion gets all the support from the management. I take this opportunity to congratulate the Cathedral Family for their tireless and committed contribution in all their endeavors.
My prayers and wishes are with the Principal, the entire Staff and above all to the student body.
Rt. Rev. Dr. Vincent Vinod Kumar

The Rev.S.T PETTIGREW
Founded in 1866 by an Anglican Clergyman, The Rev.S.T Pettigrew, The Cathedral High School and Pre – University College has come through various stages of its growth to blossom into a prime educational institution as it stands today.
In the eternal landscape of the past comes a moment to script a chapter in history, One such moment was when Rev.S.T Pettigrew saw an Indian Woman seeking financial support to care for two white orphaned girls. Moved to compassion the venerable clergyman took them in, there were many more children. With the gift of a place on Richmond road, by the Maharaja of Mysore, The Courpalais Girls Home was born. The spark of compassion grew into the flame of passion for education. With the march of time came the stages of development as the “Home” metamorphosed into ‘The Cathedral’ of learning.Today the Cathedral Composite P.U College and High School stands enriched by the past heritage, inspired to enhance the present, poised to encounter the challenges of the future, ‘Moving Forward in Faith’.
